Most truckers start as over-the-road (OTR) drivers and these jobs are not part time. The reason why most start as OTR is because many mega OTR companies have trucking schools while local trucking companies normally don’t. Plus, most local trucking companies are going to want at least 1 year of experience. So you’re probably going to have to commit full time to an OTR or regional trucking company for at least a year. You can do 6 months, but I highly advice against it. Companies want loyalty not someone who’s bouncing around every few months. "}
