Route and tow haul question and advice

{"text":"My family and I are relocating to near Denver Colorado, with a stop off in Alexander Arkansas. We are currently in Birmingham Alabama. We have a mid sized uhaul with a cargo trailer on back. Traveling with pets and never been on these routes before.   Had a few questions hoping someone can help answer.\n\n1) Best routes to take that are truck friendly without steep grades of elevation or sharp turns possible? (Concerned about mountain routes) \n\n2) How do we use the tow haul button and do we engage while driving on steep inclines and declines? we contacted uhaul by phone and chat they could not give us an answer.\n\n3) Any safe, pet friendly and moving truck parking friendly hotels on that route that you can recommend? \n\nThanks so much and safe travels to you all as well! \n(We downloaded this app for the trip hoping it would help, but when using it states it routes for all vehicle types and our uhaul has a 11’3 clearance height I believe.)","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true,"externalShare":false}

If Google gives you multiple routes, select the one that relies on the interstate highway (blue/red logo). There are some toll roads on Interstate-70 in Kansas, so bring cash.\n\nAlong the way, you can stop at the 5 major truck stops (Love’s, Pilot, Flying J, TA, Petro) and also rest areas. I don’t know much about hotels, but you can probably use just about any hotel although you may need to separate from your trailer. Use Google satellite images to plan how to enter/exit the lot. Also, you can shop for hotel prices using Google maps and sort by “lowest price.”"}

{"replyTo":"","text":"Don’t worry all the real mountains 🏔 are after Denver. The tow button disables overdrive (Highway gear) in the transmission. Pretty sure I remember them always recommended to drive with the button on. This stops transmission from constantly hunting in and out of overdrive due to the weight of being loaded and slight grade differences on the road.","replyToPid":0}

{"replyToPid":0,"replyTo":"","text":"Actually the route “Long Hair” gave is legit. I forgot about the other tolls in Oklahoma. The route he gave avoids all tolls. It might be a little longer, but it’s not a big deal. US-287 from Amarillo, TX is a very common road to Denver and it keeps you awake while passing through several towns. US-78 from Birmingham to Memphis is now also an interstate highway (I-22)."}
