","text":"It actually does mess with the collision tech. You won’t receive collision warnings on your dash as the camera cannot see how close you are from the vehicle in front of you. Also, the “adaptive” cruise control cannot work for the same reason that the camera doesn’t know your following distance anymore. You can still use your cruise control, but it will just be a regular old fashion cruise control. I know this because while I was driving in the rain, I eventually got this message on my dash that the camera view was being blocked. It cleared in like 3 minutes.\n\nPersonally I love the “adaptive” cruise control. It’s less work for me. I barely need to touch the brake pedal because the truck will brake (via jake brakes) to maintain a proper following distance. All I need to do is monitor the whole thing. Before, you would need to cancel the cruise control, turn on the jake brakes, etc. Now it’s done automatically.\n\nThe lane departure tech, on the other hand, is a pain inthebutt. I like driving close to the right line, and the tech doesn’t like it. It wants me dead center, but I don’t trust these half-asleep drivers swerving around as they pass me. Hahaha."} |
