There are real mechanic YouTubers out there like Francisco Amaya and TAT Express who work on various engines, but these engines have their pros and cons. Ultimately, you want a truck you’re already familiar with or a mechanic who is very familiar with your truck. Detroit and Cummins engines are some of the most common out there today, so there are many mechanics who know how to work on them. Volvo doesn’t sell as much, so you might have a harder time finding a legit mechanic shop other than the dealer. "}

","text":"Some trucks are designed for solo drivers. I looked at a Freightliner a couple weeks ago with a bed that can be raised to access a small table with two seats. The dealer called it a “driver’s lounge.” Also the top bunk is gone and it has cabinets instead. "}

I started out in a 1970 model White 4000, with a day cab, no air , no power steering, no air ride seat, and no radio. Had a 250 Cummins, no turbo, and a 10 speed.
