1039748 发表于 2021-05-25 20:28:15 7,500 would be a dream.. \n\nThe $4,800 weekly is gross (then we have 3% factoring and 6% dispatch fees on that total, also, our commercial insurance is $4,800 a month as well-I know, insane). Me and my husband do OTR, but occasionally I will take personal hauling jobs and rent an enterprise truck and split ways with my husband to make extra money under the table. Our 2020 Dodge Ram 3500 was 70k after financing and should last about 2-3 years.
","text":"I will highly recommend to ditch factoring as soon as possible and to learn how to dispatch yourself.\n\nThe insurance is way too high even for a semi truck operation. You need to shop like crazy for a cheaper insurance.\n\nI wonder if the DAT load board works for hotshot. If it does, get a subscription ASAP and learn how to use it. It’s not complicated at all. Also, they will recommend you a particular insurance agent. I actually ended up staying with the DAT recommended insurance agent because she had the cheapest quotes. Who knew, right?\n\nOnce you dispatch yourself, start with a simple lane that can give you guys the time you both need to learn how to better manage your business. This is important because you cannot continue rolling hard without a solid foundation. If you find yourself getting lazy in completing tasks in your business, try finding a dedicated route by asking brokers on the loads you book. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t pay very well. The verbal commitment to run this load consistently will keep you busy and you will find that you are more productive when you don’t have a ton of time, ironically. You gotta find a balance, though, in how much you’ll be rolling and how much time you’ll have to do other duties in your business. Once the foundation is solid, you can ditch that dedicated load for one that pays much more. "}

1071983 发表于 2021-05-25 04:14:01 I leave on Monday afternoon/back home Friday morning turning $7,000-$7500 weekly since January 1. I’ve been taking advantage of the HOS waiver on refrigerated goods. It ends 5/31 unless it gets renewed. I’m hoping it will. I’m averaging around 2250 miles per week. I’m only hauling 2 loads per week. Frozen out/sometimes bringing dry back.

960970 发表于 2021-05-25 19:28:28 Good week =$16k you’re running crap weeks my friend. As an OO the only reason you’re covering overhead is bc you’re running hotshot. Running a hotshot though that’s low especially if you’re hauling HOS exempt merch.

279311 发表于 2021-05-25 19:58:39 I’m currently averaging about 7,500 gross per week, but my averages continue to go up, especially since I got my hands on a long haul dedicated load. I do run legal and no HOS waiver. When I first started some 3 years ago, my average was about 5,500. I run reefer.\n\nIs your 4800 gross or profit? And is the 4800 for the truck, or just for you personally not counting your co-driver? Your equipment is cheaper though than a typical semi truck and trailer, so the gross isn’t bad. How long are those pickup trucks expected to last? Is there such a thing as an engine rebuild kit? I’m guessing probably not. Then again, buying new equipment might be better than continuing to use an old truck, assuming one has a great credit score or can buy cash.

{"replyTo":"","text":"mmmmmmm, I would say find some better loads or do more negotiation with the brokers. Either that or try to get multiple small loads paying around the same thing to make more money. I know you said you all are non CDL but still. I'm an OO hotshot, leased out to a company. After their 20%, fuel, insurance and a few other things I pocket on average $3,000 a week sometimes more sometimes less but $3,000 is the average. Before all other $ is coming out I usually run $5500-$7500 worth of loads per week. Also like someone else said, your insurance is wayyyyyy to high.","replyToPid":0}
