Parking Bobtail

{"text":"This Friday I will be bobtailing and will need to spend the night at a truckstop.  This will be the first time I’ve spent the night without a trailer, so I haven’t thought too much about this before.  I’m wondering if any one has any advice on how to park so that I’m being as courteous as possible to the drivers with trailers.  My plan is to circle the lot and pick out the spot that would be the biggest pain to park in with a trailer.  Maybe a spot that doesn’t have much room in front of it, or maybe fill a gap between two trucks already parked, or something like that.  I definitely won’t take a nice pull through spot or something.  I don’t want to ‘create’ a spot by parking along a curb because I think that could actually cause problems.  Other than simply parking in a spot that would be tough to put a trailer in, is there any other suggestions people have?  Thanks!","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true,"externalShare":false}

Another option is if you see someone else bobtail in a space ask them if you can share the space and whoever is leaving first parks in front","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"some stops have a light pole in the middle if the lot.  hard to get a trailer in those without sticking out 10 ft into the aisle (although I've seen drivers do it).  I try to find something like that if parking bobtail.   another point if you do end up having to use a spot, don't pull in or back all the way to the curb.  Nothing more frustrating than circling the lot, finding what looks like a hole only to see a bobtail backed all the way in to the curb.","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"I just wanted to thank everyone for the great advice.  It worked out well for me.  I circled the lot and there was three spaces where they had been plowing snow into, so the back half of those spots was full of snow so there was no way to park a trailer in them anyway, so I parked in one of those.  The funny thing though was that there were two other bobtails in the lot and neither of them parked in those spots with the snow piled up, and one even parked in the very next spot over from the snow pile.  Anyway, thanks everyone for the great advice’","replyToPid":0}
