Best CB for range and reliability

{"text":"   What is the best CB in y’all’s opinion. Should I buy a cobra and have it modified or just buy something like a Stryker 955 and have it converted to CB ? I see shops selling galaxies general lee and conex but that’s all the same sh* different pile really. If I’m not mistaken galaxy owns all three. {"replyTo":"","text":"I really like the galaxy lineup.  If you are just looking for a basic 4 watt low cost radio, I like the 979.  It is small enough to mount anywhere you would want, and it performs extremely well.  If you want a ‘big’ export type radio then I like the 94 or 98.  Great performance, but you will need to have it modified first.
