{"text":"I previously posted, asking for best starter company. I should have asked what is the best Student Driver Company? I already have my CDL but no real world experience. Thanks, sorry for the confusion. ","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true,"externalShare":false}
{"replyTo":"","text":"Depends on the trainer...out of school I went with a smallish company but their idea of training was sending me OTR with a trainer who would jump into the driver's seat every time we would back up...was always in a hurry. I left after 3 weeks when I realized I wasn't going to learn anything but how to drive forward...went with a mega carrier that had 2 weeks training at the yard (a lot of which was backing up). They then sent me out with a trainer for a week...he saw that I had no problem keeping my speed up on 285 around Atlanta (I guess the 1st experience did SOME good) which surprised him. We went to the yard and he had me back into a tight space...then he had me pull around and do it again...and again...4 hours later I had a little feel for it. When we needed to back into a dock and he happened to be driving, he would switch seats and make me back up no matter how hard or easy the dock was. I am almost a year in and will be moving away from this starter company, but am grateful for the training and how they stressed safety over everything.","replyToPid":0}
{"replyTo":"","text":"coming from someone that used to drive for stevens, definitely would not recommend it. I'd have to go to hirschbach. really great company. let me know if you are interested","replyToPid":0}
{"replyTo":"","text":"Stevens Transport is great starting place. 240 hours in cab with a trainer, translates to about 6 weeks. newer trucks, nothing over 450k miles.","replyToPid":0}
1055149 发表于 2021-01-02 14:29:23 a better question, who has any experience with more than one starter company? And if you find that loser, avoid him and don't follow his advice. 🤭

{"replyTo":"","text":"In my opinion the best starter company is for dot foods they have really good benefits cheap health care my first year there I grossed 70k during the pandemic.That was working their 6x3 schedule for their 4x4 schedule drivers average about 60 or just shy of it and traditional drivers make 80k plus a year it depends how hard u want to work. I started dot foods with my mindset of doing one year and then going local but after seeing how good you are treated the pay benefits and home time I’m just going to stay. ","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"I went with Swift (don't laugh too hard). they put me through their 4week school, then spent 5weeks with a mentor, and now I have been solo for 2months. except for a couple of hiccups with my mentor, I have not had any problems thus far.","replyToPid":0}
