","text":"Eh, as with all things in life: Your milage may vary. Also I didn't include that you should work for companies with fewer than 100 drivers. In my experience they offer better pay, better treatment, and are far more flexible with your home time.\n\nIf you're hauling a tanker for schneider (or any other big brand) you're not going to get the same treatment from customers as those smaller companies who likely have worked for them for years if not decades. The customer doesn't give care about a driver they'll never see again and was likely only needed because their usual people were tied up elsewhere or some other unforeseen circumstance.","replyToPid":403026}

{"replyTo":"","text":"for me the first six months to a year was the hardest. Just getting accustomed to the job. Learning the routes and scales truck stops. Backing into tight spots etc. About the same time you truly get comfortable with that the rest just kinda sinks into place. However if otr isn't your thing look around theres so many regional or  local jobs that get u more hometime. Dont let your career control your homelife. if driving for a larger company that has a driving school. Find something else asap soon as your experience allows. those companies hometime is almost nonexistent. I did it a while but burns u out fast. you start missing kids events an milestones etc. \nAnyway, good luck an be safe","replyToPid":0}
