{"text":"So my husband pulls a grain wagon and since I have moved from OK to KS where he lives I have been on the truck with him a lot lately. Ever since we got together he has been trying his damndest to get me to get my CDL. \n\nJust wondering how many lady drivers are out there and how you got over the fear of driving something so big? Gentleman you can jump in and comment as well. He says all I have to do is study for these 3 tests I guess and then if I pass them I get a learners permit and I can drive with him until I actually go and take my test. He is so confident I can do it and I would like it once I passed. {"replyTo":"","text":"I say go for it. I wanted to drive since I was a little girl. I love it. I will say if you are afraid you definitely have to get over that 1st. You have to be confident in your abilities to drive the truck. You can not make rash movements like in a car. You have to be on top of your game each time you start that engine. ","replyToPid":0}

Just have him teach you the basics to drive a rig and drive it around a relatively empty truck stop and practice backing into parking spots away from other trucks, just to get the feel for it and to be sure you’re comfortable with it, since your husband is so sure you can do it lol. If you want good feedback I’d honestly try Facebook groups (assuming you’re on facebook) like “trucker wives and girlfriends” because there’s not a lot of positive feedback on this particular platform in my opinion, especially from women (and I’m a woman).
