{"replyTo":"","text":"Any \"good\" tanker company that pays well, will require 2 years of experience.\nYou can find others that will hire you, but they don't pay well.\nWhatever you do, DO NOT sign a lease purchase agreement.\nWork as a company driver, flatbed and tankers usually pay the best, and learn the ropes.\nRun your company truck as if you own it.\nGet yourself a ledger, fill in the columns (fuel, oil, repairs (most mechanics will give you a ballpark on what a repair costs), additives, tolls, permits, ect.\nFill in the info everyday, after a year you'll have an idea what it costs to own a truck.\nThen, regardless of credit, go to a used truck lot and buy a used truck.\n1. Buying from a dealer allows you to \"take\" the truck with you to any company.\n-a lease purchase truck keeps you stuck at whatever company you brought the truck from. ( you will not pay it off, all you will accomplish is \"pay to drive\".","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"Landstar I believe is owner operators, you won't be home every day.\nPilot probably won't hire you to pull a fuel tanker with no experience.\nQuickest way to gain experience is in a day cab with a local company, if you wanna be home every day","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"Go find an oilfield, spend a year as a dirty water hauler and then go haul crude. You’ll start out making $80-ish a year while oil is good.  (And you will find yourself relieved when gas is expensive)","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"
805928 发表于 2020-01-23 06:28:19 is 80ish the water pay or the crude pay?
","text":"Water.  $400/day is what I expect hauling crude. (I’m actually afraid of heights to the point that I won’t buy oil anymore)\nThe $80k figure is based on $23/hr and an average of 65 hours a week. You will probably work a 6 and 2 twelve hour a day schedule. And slip seat day cabs.  \n\nThese numbers are based on what they pay in the DJ basin in Colorado/southeastern Whyoming. They do a 6/2 because it keeps driver scheduling consistent. Always have the same number of guys on. 4 guys for every 3 trucks.\n\nAnd most production water tanks are pits that are mostly buried.  Some are just an insulated production tanks that are 9/15/16/20/25/33 ft tall.\n\nIt’s cold, windy, and you get to learn how to chain like a rockstar, you learn how to maneuver tight spaces, find stops in the worst of conditions and how to gauge a tank before durning and after loading.  You really cannot be afraid of diverse conditions.  It IS NOT for the feint of heart.  “Suck it up and get it done” is the phrase that pays.   And never forget that side to side slosh and low speed rollover (soft shoulders are a huge problem) are trouble.\n\nAnother thing, if you are a casual drug user? Don’t bother.  I’ve been on location where the company man gathered EVERYONE on the pad and we all peed.  It’s not super common, but it is outside of your dot randoms, not done by your employer and a failure will still get you fired. So it goes on your DAC as a failed random.","replyToPid":310821}
