At least 2 hours of that 10 must be logged as Off Duty, Not driving. The other 8 must be logged as consecutive hours under Sleeper Berth. (If you're a day cab and stay at a motel, then the hours will all just be logged as Off Duty)\nFor example...If you park and log off, Off Duty, go shower, eat, walk around for an hour, climb in the sleeper for sleeper Berth for 8 hours, wake up, go back to 1 hour of Off Duty while you get your coffee and breakfast,and brush your teeth like a good little trucker, then you have fulfilled your 10 hours. You can split up the 2 hours however you want to, as long as you log the 8 hours consecutively. Of course, most people obviously can not go a full 8 hours without having to use the restroom or walk around. \n\nseriously though, you can get out and do stuff. Keep in mind that 10 hour break includes sleeping. But if you have extra time to kill there is no harm in exploring. There are rest areas and truck stops with trails or close to parks. There are some that are close to museums or zoo's too.\n\nMississippi Welcome Center (i10, exit 2) is right next to the Infinity Space Center. Park, walk over and see the museum, get a bus tour of the John C Stennis Space Center.\n\nIf you're near Atlanta Georgia, there is a small truck stop off i75 exit 293. Tellus Science Museum is right behind it.\n\ni80 in Wyoming right at the Nebraska boarder, the Wyoming Welcome Center has a few miles of trails behind it that take you up onto the plateaus which offer panoramic views of the surround flat land. You can see for miles.\n\ni8 in California, exit 51 rest area. There is a 4x4 trail that goes up the mountain right at the off ramp. If you're ok with walking uphill for 3 miles you get a great view. Trail is over 10 miles long if I recall correctly.\n\ni40, exit 9 in Arizona. The Pilot truck stop has a dirt road into the desert behind it. Go exploring but take your phone so you don't get lost.\n\ni80 through Utah has a rest area in the middle of the salt flats. Park and take a walk. Couple dozen square miles of flat wide open bright white land. No fences, hardly any roads, no shade. Walk a mile out and there is nothing but silence. It's where they filmed Jack Sparrow in Davey Jones Locker in Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End.","replyToPid":0}
