{"text":"Someone made a comment that we should be paid for every minute we are in the truck, and I agree. \n\nMy problem is that we are asking for more hours to drive or more flexibility to adjust our schedule because some shippers or receivers give their employees mandatory breaks or have inefficient operations. However, they continue to earn money while on break, or drink coffee or whatever. All the while we sit. Some shippers/receivers (s/r) ask for 4 hours before paying detention. In other words work for 4 hours for free. Who does that? No one else starts work at 7AM but clocks in at 11AM. Why should we? To top it off they go home to their families at the end of the day. While we get on the road to a traffic jam. \n\nWhat I am saying is that shippers and trucking companies expect us to take care of their shipments and trucks while on the road but don’t pay extra for the additional responsibility. If an electrician, a plumber, or fireman is on call he gets paid.\n\nSo do we really want more hours to drive or more pay to be able live a middle class life at the very least.?\n\n","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true} |
