I drove 916's in the Gulf when in the Army. just got in and figured it out, no training. When I finally took my cdl driving test at a tech school for $300 for truck usage it had been 25+ yrs since I drove a truck. Passed my test but couldnt get a job cuz I had no verifiable experience. Had to partner w FFE/KLLM and took week long refresher course to be qualified for their otr training program.  6weeks w a trainer, completed in 5 and now I'm solo. one thing I noticed was Driving School is aimed at getting your cdl, that's it. Hope you get a good trainer because after 6 weeks you got to figure it out on the fly.  I was lucky, my trainer was thorough. Lots of rookies just being thrown in the truck w lil to no understanding what it takes.","replyToPid":0}
